Greetings, and welcome to the Dying Scene Record Radar. If it’s your first time here, thank you for joining us! This is the weekly* column where we cover all things punk rock vinyl; new releases, reissues… you name it, we’ve probably got it. Kick off your shoes, pull up a chair, crack open a cold one, and break out those wallets, because it’s go time. Let’s get into it!

Check out the video edition of this week’s Record Radar, presented by Punk Rock Radar:

We’ve got some heavy hitters batting leadoff this week, with Enjoy the Ride Records announcing 2xLP Deluxe Edition reissues of two Reel Big Fish records: 2007’s Monkeys for Nothin’ and the Chimps for Free (very underrated) and 2018’s Life Sucks…Let’s Dance! (adequately rated). Each of these are available on 3 beautiful color variants and come with a bunch of bonus tracks. Get ’em here before they’re gone.

NOFX will be playing their last 3 shows ever(!) next weekend in Los Angeles, and naturally Fat Wreck’s bringing the heat with some ultra limited show-exclusive color (and cover) variants. So far they’ve announced “Final Final Vinyl” editions of Wolves in Wolves’ Clothing and The Longest Line, both which will be available with three unique screened print cover options, as well as a foil variant. Again, these will only be available at the final NOFX shows. Next weekend. In Los Angeles. California. United States. But you can probably get them for 5x the original price on ebay and discogs in a few weeks!

And as I’m writing this they just announced The Decline, too, will be getting a Final Final Vinyl variant exclusive to these last 3 shows. I’m sure there will be many more to come, just wanted to share what we know so far. Praise capitalism!

How bout some new records? I’ve been known to talk about those on the Record Radar occasionally. Connecticut’s American Thrills will be releasing their new album Milestone on November 15th via Wiretap Records. Check out the lead single “Impossible” below 👇 and pre-order the LP here. If you’re in the UK, Disconnect Disconnect Records should have some copies available soon as well.

Here’s another new record! Swedish pop-punks the Randells‘ new LP Peel Eat Repeat is due out October 25th on Shield Recordings. If you’re in Europe, you can get it on black and/or transparent yellow colored vinyl, CD, or cassette (or all of the above) right here. As for my fellow Americans, our friends at Mom’s Basement Records have you covered, and you can get Peel Eat Repeat on all the aforementioned formats on their webstore.

Three’s a party, and our third new release on this week’s Record Radar comes from Montreal punks The Lookout! I Know the Future releases on October 18th and you can pre-order it on sea blue and yellow colored vinyl from Thousand Islands Records (North America) and Bearded Punk Records (Europe) right now. Check out the new single “Hot Date” – it’s super fun!

Switching gears back to old records on new pretty colors, I present to you Zia Records’ exclusive “gold nugget” variant of Social Distortion’s incredibly unremarkable Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes. I’m sure John’s excited about this one, but I can’t speak for the rest of the general public. It’s limited to 300 copies and you can get it here if you so desire.

The Muffs’ Blonde and Blonder is back in print for the first time in a while, with a new crystal clear variant available from Omnivore Recordings. It looks like they also put out a 2xLP deluxe edition of the band’s iconic 1993 self-titled debut a few weeks ago that I somehow missed, but the good news is that’s still available as well. And as if that wasn’t enough, Omnivore also has reissues of Really Really Happy, The Muffs’ final album No Holiday, and Kim’s posthumous demos LP. Get all of that and more here.

The spooky season is upon us, and beloved horror pop-punk band Horror Section is gracing us with a brand new 3-song EP to mark the occasion. Eccentric Pop is releasing it as a 12″ EP limited to 300 copies spread across 3 color variants, each with a matching cover variant and screen printed (or is it etched? Idk) B-Side. Pre-orders go live on the Eccentric Pop webstore this coming Friday, October 4th at Noon Eastern. Be there ore be square!

The Mr. T Experience’s 2000 Miracle of Shame EP is being released on vinyl for the first time evah thanks to the almighty Sounds Rad Records. There will be 200 copies on pink vinyl and 50-100 copies on green vinyl. You can “call dibs” now to be reminded when pre-orders go live on October 16th.

Another pop-punk EP from the year 2000 getting the reissue treatment from Sounds Rad is The Plus Ones’ On the List. For those unfamiliar, this band’s lineup features Joel Reader (Mr. T Experience), Dan Panic (Screeching Weasel) and Scotty Hay (The Receivers). This limited sky blue vinyl reissue crams 6 previously unreleased songs on the B-Side, transforming it into a full-length album! Call dibs here to pre-order on October 16th.

Asheville, North Carolina punks Busy Weather are set to release their debut full-length album Look Up! on October 11th. Check out the lead single “Gemini” below 👇 and pre-order the LP on random mixed color vinyl from Dead Broke Rekerds or Anxious and Angry.

Hey Suburbia Records is releasing a collection of mid-90’s demos and live recordings from Chemical People, simply titled Demos & Live, on October 20th. This is limited to 500 copies on white colored vinyl and you can get it here.

And we’ll put a pretty lil bow on this week’s Record Radar with Canadian Ramonescore band The McBains‘ new self-titled record, out now on Faster and Louder Records! You can listen to the whole damn thing below and get it on white colored vinyl (limited to 300 copies) and/or compact disc (limited to 100 copies!) right here.

Well, that’s all, folks. Another Record Radar in the books. Short one this week! As always, thank you for tuning in. If there’s anything we missed (highly likely), or if you want to let everyone know about a new/upcoming vinyl release you’re excited about, leave us a comment below, or send us a message on Facebook or Instagram, and we’ll look into it. Enjoy your weekend, and don’t blow too much money on spinny discs (or do, I’m not your father). See ya next time!
